BTTC launches Corporate and Social Responsibility Report for 2023

We are proud to present our Corporate and Social Responsibility Report for 2023. This report sets out the commitments we have made to our employees, our customers and the communities which we serve. It also describes the steps that we have taken and celebrates the successes that we have made. Check it out HERE.

In 2023, we adopted the National TOMs Framework, published by the UK’s National Social Value Taskforce, to target and measure our social value approach. In our first year, we created a value equivalent to 14% of our yearly turnover in social value.

Here are some of the highlights from the year:

  • Almost one third of our employees volunteered to improve the skills, confidence and employment opportunities of jobseekers to help them back into employment through our partnerships with BITC and ACCES Employment.
  • We invested 1% of our Canadian business’ pre-tax profit to the ‘Building Brighter Futures’ program run by Indspire to provide financial assistance to Indigenous students in post-secondary education, through bursaries, scholarships and awards.
  • We offset 101% of our travel-related carbon emissions, 224.85 tCO2e, to support gold standard climate impact projects worldwide.
  • Nine employees at the start of their career were part of our graduate scheme, supporting upskilling of our local community.
  • Our Canadian team undertook over 150 hours of Indigenous Awareness Certification provided by Indigenous Awareness Canada.

We are already successfully delivering our 2024 social value action plan, through which we will show our commitment to the communities we serve, our planet, our customers and our employees.
